Help! Anyone got any shims? ID 5mm OD 7mm

Post by Tengisgol »

I have put some new bearings in an old Adcock Stanton and, to get it running perfectly, I need some paper thin brass (?) spacer shims just to lift off the back plate and also at the front, off the bearing. I know this will work and I need paper thin because I made some adhoc, with a hole punch and thick paper, and it worked a treat.

Can anyone help? Ideally I am after four to six shIms in total, although I suspect two may be enough. If needs be I can probably Heath RobInson my own but some real McCoy would be better.

Thanks in anticipation. Tengisgol.

Why not make some more out of thin nylon / plastic sheet, I've done it for the pivot bearings on folding knives, very smooth and easy to source / make.
