That advert is apparently from 1953, which just goes to show that Edgar Sealey were right up there with Allcocks in producing glass fibre rod parts so early, but I really didn't think anodised reel bands came about for another 10 years.......could the Comet have been made for so long and we not know about it?

The rod has now been restored leaving it with the original glass fibre tip.The butt has dryed out with a stress crack giving no movement.A very scarce rod it was worth restoring back to original condition. But not a great lover of green went for burgandy.ImageImageImageImage
