Brass fittings

Post by Muscavado »

Gentlemen,
I have just restored a battered and unloved wooden starback pin with a Slater latch
I am pleased with the results, but as I spent a long time on the brass fittings, can anyone suggest how I can slow down the tarnishing of the brasswork?
Will wax do the job? I do not want to use Lacquer

John, I think wax will do the do the job fine or maybe just a wipe over with a lightly oiled rag now and then.
