Cleaning up a French Doperr reel 1950s

Post by Evert van der Plas »

I bought recently a Doperr reel from France, wonderful piece in art deco style with a great aluminium box. I only cleaned it with water and soap to remove old grease remains and i think it looks great

That's very stylish Evert.
I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete.

A pretty reel - very stylish for the period - one up on the Mitchell 304 - 314!

My goodness... that is exquisite.... I love that perforated spool... it almost has an Art Deco look to it, or maybe a hint of Steam-Punk feel... whatever, it's superb Evert :Hat:

Very nice reel Evert, with the deco sun rays.I have seen the same design on some Egyptian artifacts and on the walls of tombs.

Stunning. I've admired these for a while, you've done it proud.
