Replacement handles for wooden centrepin.

Hello Everyone

I am looking for a couple handles similar to ones in this image of a wooden centrepin below. The reel I have (not the one below) is 3" diameter. So if anyone knows of where I can possibly aquire some, that would be a great help. I have had a look online and am still searching.

There are a number of pen blanks in a similar colour that can be turned down on a lathe. I expect the originals were cow horn.

Hi , If you are going down the lathe turning route try using genuine bone. I obtained mine from a large piece, sold freeze dried in pet shop for dogs to chew.It must of course be boiled to remove the marrow and residue flesh (smells terrible ).It cut when dry with a hacksaw and then can be turned.The resultant bone is very white. My attempt so far is to use a flat piece that made a handle for a fixed reel. Worked very well ! Regards to all, Tony
