Harvey Torbett in The Childrens Newspaper 1963

Post by AshbyCut »

Thanks again to TFF member Alchemist for pointing me at these links.

Entirely in keeping with his day job as a teacher, Harvey wrote educational articles for children in "The Childrens Newspaper" ... these links showing to a couple of pages about fly fishing in 1963 :-

If you follow the link to the page you can find a few more, although it takes a bit of searching

May be worth trying in the cold winter evenings.

Looking at some of the other contributions, they had some very well respected writers.

Simply splendid Alchemist, Sir.

I hope that you'll be pleased to know that I have communicated your researched to Harvey's daughter, and that she will be showing Harvey's wife who, I'm happy to say, is still able to enjoy reading these documents.

Wouldn't that little collection make a great little book
The advice is as relevant today as it was then.
