Identification please

Post by Kingfisher15 »

Good afternoon Gents
Knowing I had an interest in cane roods, a neighbour handed this in to me from a family member no longer fishing.
I appreciate it doesn't look top quality. I am not often stumped, but can't put a name on it.
Its 10'6".
Any thoughts or wisdom. Thanks and regards.

I think they were Japanese inports but they normally have chrome plated ferrules. Having said that I've seen that style of whipping on solid glass Milbro rods.

I had an identical rod to that one. Pretty sure it was a cheap import rod but it served for general fishing until something better came my way. I even caught a 10lb carp on it though the cane never quite resumed it's normal shape again!

I also had one like that. Definitely an imported rod from the far east.

Yeah remember that whipping very well, my old man lost a section of one just like it from the roof rack of his Hillman Imp.
