A 12 ft ferruleless must be very light to trot with - but I suspect for roach/dace and not chub!

Olly, :Hat:
Light enough for trotting, fast on the strike, but not ideal for anything other than small to medium sized fish. I attach a picture of the rod Wal restored for me and one of me playing a crucian weighing just over a pound. I wouldn't fancy hooking a 4lb chub on it.

Is that the 12fter or a 13?

I have a 2 section ferruled 11fter, whole cane with whole spliced split cane, and landed chub on it from a small stream about 2lb. Very similar action.
