An odd Vintage Cane Rod.

Post by Tonytoned »

Hello Everyone

Picked up this Bamboo / Bamboo Greenheart / Split cane rod today from a local vintage fair. What intrigues me is the butt with its pointed brass end cap. Is it possibly home made, a trolling rod or just the style of rods of the era, the handle is wooden with the reel clamps set back on the rod anr are made from brass. It measures approximately 10" in length the Butt section is made from bamboo, the mid section is bamboo with grafted greenheart about 3/4 of the way up and the tip section is split cane. I would say the rod is probably a leger style in test curve.

Any help or thoughts would be greatly appreciated, thank you for your time

Looks a tad dangerous to me, have you checked the spike for blood?
Thanks Martin H. Ooooh! I haven't checked for blood, yeah it be interesting to het more feedback.
