Hi Gentleman,
just a follow on from the generous offer made recently by fellow member Muscavado (John) who offered these items for the cost of postage.
12ft and 13ft Lee of Redditch Golden Jubilee Fyberon Glass.I am very pleased I sent the PM and secured them.
John added to this offer by including a Geo. Wilkins & Sons The Trent 12ft ,which was in need of some TLC.
Overall the rod was very sound, the varnish was in need of refreshing, the middle section needed new guides.
I wanted to retain the transfer on the butt all the red whippings and the top section as it was in good condition apart from a clean.
I had a look in the odds and ends box and decided to add the new guides to the middle and the same guide to the butt.I only had a dark green whipping so used this for the guides and added further whippings to the ferrules and joints on the other sections to balance the colours.
The rod had a darker varnish but I stripped this away apart from the transfer area on the butt.
I very happy with the overall finish to this unexpected project....I hope you approve John.
Many thanks once again.
All the best
Nige.
John...I hope it meets with your approval.
