Copper fishing rod.

Post by Benj1dog »

Hi, looking for any information about a rod that i have , it appears to bemade of copper tube . It is 3 sections and the upper sections screw into the lower sections with a spiral screw similar in dimensions to a corkscrew tye thread. It has one guide that is lashed on with copper wire, others have been whipped in the more traditional manner.

No makers name of course has been finished in black paint, approx 9' long.

Any ideas?

This sounds like an antenna. Look up Beryllium-copper ww2 aircraft antenna.

Must be an aerial, copper would crush when bent as well as weigh a lot and have a radiator on the butt section.
