Just won this.
Ten foot and in nice condition. It looks like a salmon rod.
Hoping it will do for carp/ pike ?

Looks like a nice rod, had a look myself but felt the handle may be a little short for my liking.

Handle is 55 cm.
I'm not sure if it's restored or not.
I bought it for a mate who I am trying to induct into the ways of cane.

Looks like a useful piece of kit and should do what you need it to.

55cm? Sorry I had to convert that into something I understand .. 21 1/2 inches, that's pretty good...

Thats a very nice looking rod, I would certainly be tempted to try for a Barbel with it.

Re: J B Walker 10 foot salmon
i have a very similar rod ,one of the first I brought (was told it was a mk 1V ,but I was naïve back then ) its 10ft ,two piece rod no label or script to identify it . I did take it too Redditch too see if anyone knew anything about it ,consensus was pike or salmon rod.more a salmon rod I 'd say .not too stiff and quite light .can't say its identical but very similar
mine has a white glass butt ring but its obviously been added as its poorly soldered into the original frame
mines not without its problems ,the varnish is more treacle than varnish its horrible stuff
the butt cap is loose & held in place via the pins (or in this case a screw ,i'm not sure its original) and the tip ring is unlined
the reel bands are poor and cheep looking ,not original .its stood in my attic for several years now ,as its not inspired me too sort it out so far ,I have got some new agate butt & tip rings for it and apart from the butt cap needing refitting the handle is great ,the blank is good .it just needs some tlc & re-varnish .then it'll be as nice as yours ,I plan too strip my and refurb it as a carp rod .extending the handles cork (theres no label or script too worry about) and making it a doughnut end I might even fit a fixed reel seat into the handle .moving the ringing about a bit .I think it'll make a nice rod when done for either carp or small river barbel rod ,or even pike .it has lots of possibilities .mines got too wait its turn as I've more pressing projects but one day it will be reborn .
good luck with yours ,can't give any info identity wise (never did identify mine ,yours looks in good order I can only suggest giving it a go ,maybe checking the test curve will help you decide what it'll be used for.

I use a 12' version for my pike fishing can and it can lob out a decent sized dead bait.
