"The Ideal" 9ft 3"

Post by AshbyCut »

Winging it's way to me soon (I hope) is a 2 piece, 9ft 3in, Foster Bros. of Ashbourne "The Ideal" (with original maker's bag) which was listed on the Bay of E as a fly rod.

Very nice. Probably intended as a spinning rod originally but looks as if it will make a good leger rod

Very nice Mal!

I'm just going to look up "rationalise" as I don't know what it means any more!
I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete.

"Unrelated to the truth"

Sums things up perfectly it appears!

Ah so it was you was it AC! I was after that one but got the Scottie for £12.50 so all was not lost.

I thing they are spinning/worming rods but I'll see when I collect it. Planning to make mine into a little rod for those Perch and jack Pike on the canal what are your plans AC?
I have laid aside business, and gone a'fishing.

It seems a very similar configuration to my Norcro, so (all being well) stalking with floating baits in tight swims in the warm months, and close legering in the chillier times. I have a nice intimate little bay on my local club water in mind.
