Forty Fore Avon & De Luxe

Post by Ljm183 »

A few photo,s of the two Forty Fore,s bought today.
An Avon and a De Luxe together with a MK1v S/U

A bit of work needed on the S/U , need to get the varnish off the handle :Brickwall:
The Forty Fore De Luxe could do with a re varnish.
The Avon a tip ring need,s replacing as the one fitted is unlined and threaded to take a swing tip.
Apart from that the rod,s are in good condition straight with very little droop, correct length and the ferrules and ring,s are very good.

I say, Sir !!! I'd be happy to find just one of those rods at a time. Super group.

I do like the Forty Fore. I didn't know he did an avon version - one more for the wish list!

What is the serial number of the Forty Fore Lee? My handle is different and I wondered if it was later or earlier than your version. Mine has a serial number of 970

That's interesting then. Mine is a slightly later Forty Fore deluxe, but it has a doughnut handle. Presumably Mr C made the sort of handle you wanted when he mad a rod.

That,s possible. The seller i bought the rod,s from bought them new and had an unlined tip ring with screw fitting for a swing tip fitted on the avon.
