Mystery Aspindale's

Post by Dendrobaena »

Can any one please help my identify a rod that i have recently acquired. It is 10' 6" hole cane but hole cane middle split cane tip.
It just says Aspindale's Redditch, apart from the rings being rewhiped it seems to be original.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

It could be an Aspindale one of these? They made them for resale by tackle shops.

Having seen this rod, my guess would be that it's an early rod. Could be one of the first they made.

They made a 11ft - 2 section rod - whole cane butt section - whole cane with spliced in split cane tip section - that I know. I have two. Called "The Avon".

I also have a 3 section Aspindale:- whole cane - whole cane - split cane tip - at 12 ft called the "Avon 2".
