Well the project is started. All the rings have been removed. Only the butt ring is still servicable. I've sent the rest off to John at Guides n Blanks who will match them up for me. All the whipping have been removed and the varnish has been stripped from the tip section and half of the mid. (Scraping at 90 degrees with a stanley blade) slow and steady. This rod has been treated badly in the past with extra eyes whipped on to it and badly varnished. With some care and attention I think I can bring it back.
