I reckon it's a special order rod, Olly on another thread mentions that Aspindale's did do custom jobs. :Hat:

He said he brought it from new as a youngster hopefully I'll get a little more back ground on it when I pop round

I once had a rod made for me by Aspindales for chub fishing on the Thame. It was a 9ft three piece built cane using fly rod blanks. I was asked what I wanted it called and I said The Thamedale. Is there a possibility this was a one off order for use on the Stour in particular?

If it is a one off Dorset stour rod with barbel and chub in mind any idea of value guys? 60 year old original mint condition?

I'd say it's more suitable for tench and chub now I've seen it would make a nice float rod
