I think it's a pike rod, meant for dead baits or heavy spinning.

Good afternoon folks . To add to the MARCO list I have in front of me a nice little 7 ft 6 inch 2 piece light spinning rod labelled the 'Capella' . The Capella legend is part of the trilby hatted laughing angler transfer , the elasticane transfer is further up the butt section . The rod has jewelled [red ] lined rings throughout , all whippings are burgundy and seem original , rod has a shaped cork handle with a fixed alloy winch fitting

I nearly purchased one of those the other day but Mrs J soon put a stop to that

I have both an eight and ten foot version of the Capella. The ten foot version is a de luxe and has agate lined rings.
The coiled line travels from the reel, it brings up at last, the hook goes home, and then begins the test of skill. "BB"

I am in the process of restoring my dads old Marco rod. It looks like it is called Aron?
Its a three peace rod but the top section has gone missing. I have a few top sections in split cane but they dint really match.
Any ideas ?
I know there not the best of rods, but it was the first rod I remember my dad owning and it went with him from Cornwall to Cape wrath. Had some lovely fish on it. Must be around 50 years old.

Mr B
The close season is an important and interesting time for the Angler who set out to catch big fish. It is a timely opportunity for him to make new tackle or renovate old. There are no end of jobs to do, apart from those horrible things called Gardens!
