Bernard Venables Perch x 2

Post by Fredline »

Hero worship is not given lightly at Chez Fred, Billy Bonds and Bernard Venables are the notable exceptions. B. V's Mr Crabtree needs absolutely no introduction, but which is the best picture in the book? For me it has always been the Perch set on page 83 so I just had to purchase this copy of Mr Crabtree that due to a cock up at the printers has included 2 copies of page 83. "Back of the net". I believe John Henwood has the original artwork.

If you have no grease with you, and your rings are full of ice, do not cut out the ice with a pen-knife but get your man to put the rings one by one in his mouth, and so to thaw the ice.

What a find. Is there a page missing to accommodate the extra or is it a five fingered Kitkat?

Hi Dave, it is 5 fingered.

Double Bubble!

I think every frame of Mr.Crabtree is electrifying, but yes...he did do good perch, didn't he?
