They don't turn up so often now ...

Post by AshbyCut »

... the rods by this maker of which I don't have an example ... but ...

... tonight saw me seal my 65th !!!

I've just become custodian of a Bernard Sealey & Co. rod, previously unknown to me ... a 3 piece, all split cane, 13ft. 6in. un-named rod probably dating to the early to mid 1960's ... and being 'un-named' probably yet another of their 'custom built to customer's orders' rods.

I have no idea how much it's going to weigh ... or what the tapers are ... and with my shoulders, whatever they are I'll probably only be able to manage to angle with it a half an hour at a time (if I can pick it up at all !!!!! :Chuckle: ) .

Well done Mal. Good to hear of another one entering the fold!
I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete.

Very nice whipping pattern, could it be hollow built?

65th?

Is it possible that they don't turn up much because you own most of the companies output? :Chuckle:

Enjoy it, Mal. :Sun:
