There it is the wonderful compound taper found in very few cane rods enjoy Rod you are now officially a member of the B Sealey appreciation society. I should point out we only currently have a few members of which AshbyCut is the grand Poohbah .

Re: Advice on my auction find of a 'Festival'
Thanks Bumble,
My moment of joy over 'Festival' turned into a nightmare when on the 5th Sept I was rushed to the critical care unit of Peterborough hospital where I was on a life support machine for several days due to a severe chest infection. Due to fantastic care I was discharged yesterday and now need rest and recovery (fishing !) so my new rod may never have been flexed by me ! but it certainly will now. In the last week of my stay a friend brought in a copy of 'improve your course fishing' what rigs to use, being a luddite some seemed to be 'hair rig' which I don't use but it gives plenty to think about, couple of good articles by Bob Roberts and Steve Pope in it as well.
Tight lines
Dave

Glad to have you back with us Sir !!!!!
An experience like that does tend to concentrate the mind on what's important doesn't it ?
Delighted to hear you will be the one to use such a special rod.

Nice to hear you are on the mend Dave!
Improve your coarse fishing isnt the worst of magazines to be brought. Regularly have articles on river and canal angling.
Keep us posted on the Festival.

I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete.

Good grief RR, I hope you now have an amazing second half to your season, especially with the Festival.
Have a nice time "relaxing".
all the best
Matt.

Sounds like we should move this to the "Places We Plan To Visit As A Group" section ?
