Glad you saw Kingfishers TD,
They always used to fly past pipping when I used to fish the Wanstead stretch.
Water Voles as well(not Rats, but there were those too)
I fancy a bit of River Fishing soon, maybe Broxbourne

Kingfishers are, at least, a good sign for the water quality; now all you have to do is wait for their prey to grow to an interesting size...
Quite fancy a go at Broxbourne, too; if I get a chance to scout it out, I'll p.m. the pair of you. Anyone else interested?

All three of us watched a kestrel too. I said " watch Joe, it will drop like a stone" and it did. Like us it had a blank... Also I've seen a little Egret too.
Broxbourne looked lovely last time I had a look....whether or not there are any fish in there ?????

Had a look at Broxbourne today, looked good, flowing well at the mill pool.

I do love the Roding kingfishers! Plenty of minnows for them to eat. Good to hear you're getting out on the river, though it's the hardest it's ever been this season.
