Youngs purist handles swap
Morning all, ive recently purchased a purist 2030 pin and its a cracking reel but my fat sausage fingers are having a bit of a faff with the handles, is it poss to get/swap some other handles that would make it a bit easier to grip? Just wondering

I'd ask Gary Mills what the options are.

Try putting some catapult latex over them to improve the grip

Thanks Beresford - simple non permanent adaptions are often the best! I've been using hollow latex from broken Barnet 'blackwidow' and the Drennan 'boiliiepult' on fly reels for years. You can also find latex surgical tubing to suit. Easy to cut two equal pieces - you could even weigh them if you are concerned about unbalancing your trotting reels. Apply with a bit of nature's lubricant and it grips the handle nicely and provides a great purchase for my fat and sometimes cold fingers. Very easy to remove/replace too.

If you are worried about weight unbalancing the drum then perhaps cutting a couple of pieces of a thin tubular baloon and slipping that over the handles would suffice with hardly any weight you would get the grip needed without unbalancing the drum
