Allcocks Duplex Reels

I have noticed on Ebay that there is an Allcocks Duplex on offer. As an avid collector of Youngs Fixed Spool Reels I have assumed that they were the makers of this model for Allcocks. However on checking in Elwyns wonderfull reference book he does not appear to mention it at all. Can any body tell me who the makers were?

There is a passing reference to the Duplex in my book (page 155) however I did not go into depth as it was not a JW Youngs made reel. I have one in my own collection - but have never used it. I am sure I didn't manage to identify the makers but would not completely discount it being an Allcocks made reel.

The Duplex you refer to on ebay is probably mine. I have restored several of them over the last 40 years or so. I have always believed they were Manufactured by Allcocks. I remember ordering a handle for one in the late 60's and the invoice was from Allcocks...
