Congratulations on a gem of a site :thumb:
I love old fishing stories and the history of the old lakes and anglers, no doubt i'll be asking loads of questions.
Thanks :D

Re: Hello fellow anglers
Thanks for the welcome guys, here's a bit about me.
I've rediscovered my Passion for Angling (forgive the pun) over the last couple of years, after a 20yr break, apart from the odd outing for barbel or pike, and having lost, lent or broke my old tackle, i'm now concentrating on Carp.
I love and appreciate the history, the old waters and personalities. I'm fascinated by the old tackle, but not a collector (i've barely enough room for my stuff as it is).
I'm reading through the classic books, having read, when a boy - BB's The Whopper, i'm sure I read it at school, as over 30 years ago, that's the only place I ever read anything. I did have a copy, but alas it's now lost
It was this book and tales of the mysterious Redmire Pool, that ignited my love for carp, but with my dad being a midlands canal match angler, I didn't get much chance of some real specimens!, up until last year my PB was still only 8lb, a wonderful mirror carp caught off the top in around 1985 from a small staffordshire pool.
I've been lucky this year, with some cracking fish and to top it off a trip to Redmire a few weeks ago (I can give up now!!!)
So, i'm like a kid in a sweet shop on here.
Thanks
Kris

Re: Hello fellow anglers
Sounds like you too are afflicted with the same passion as the rest of us so you are in good, like minded company.
