Morning all,
Just a few lines about me. I'm 68 years old, living in Llandeilo, where I fish the Towy for trout, sewin and salmon. Fear not however; as I began fishing at 5 in a small pond for rudd and perch. Dad had bought me one of those multi-rods made of bamboo that came in in wooden box. We had family in the Midlands and I always took rods and fished the local canals. I once caught a very large perch from a canal in Tamworth. We do have lakes and pools hereby where pike, perch, rudd and carp can be caught. I fish for these in the late autumn and winter months. I have cane rods by Allcocks and Hardy and several made up rods from cane blanks bought in the 70's and 80's. I use the 11 ft cane with one of the several centrepins that I own when I go trotting the Wye around the Builth area. I'm an avid reader and collector of angling books and magazines covering coarse sea and game fishing. I still believe that the first dozen or so copies of 'Creel' represent some of the finest writing ever on the subject. I corresponded occasionally with Richard Walker in the early 80's on carp fishing and rod building, and his letters were loaned to Professor Barrie Rickards for his Biography on Dick. Tight lines.

Hi Sewinal and welcome. I'm in Pontardawe in the Swansea Valley, not a million miles from you. I fished theTowy extensively for Sewin at night, mainly upstream of Llandeilo at Manor Afon farm (Gwaun cae Gurwen club water). I stopped nine years ago when the runs dwindled away.
