Hello from Shrewsbury
Hi All,
My name is André and I'm from Shrewsbury in Shropshire, I'm a 47 years old husband, father and grandfather.
My health as not been the best over the years and after having a few failed spinal operations I found myself unable to do many of the hobbies I found dear.
Whist playing around with fishing web sites I came across the brilliant work of Ian Lewis who makes traditional floats, although id lost some of the fine motor control in my hands I decided to have ago at creating vintage floats,
I then realised that my depression had gone, I didn't focus on the pain as much and I had created a few usable floats, Ian Lewis's work was my inspiration and found that his clean lines between different materials my current challenge. I hope to progress to cane rods one day but it's all for my pleasure and never to be sold. I don't believe they are of saleable quality but one day maybe.

I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete.

A hearty welcome, Sir.
