Hello everyone- My name is Tony. I have been a traditional angler for over 14 years. I live on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales and, despite being surrounded by some very fine game fishing waters, I am predominantly a coarse angler. Fortunately there are some nice quiet lakes and rivers not too far from home where I can fish peacefully for magnificent carp and barbel. I employ the simplest methods and use split cane rods and centrepin reels exclusively. My angling is conducted in a very relaxed fashion and with a keen eye for the many wonders of the natural world. In my humble opinion there is no finer way to spend a day than lazily puffing on a pipe full of good tobacco while waiting for a fold of tin foil to swing upwards towards the rod, thus indicating that a carp has taken the bait ! :hat:

Chance is always powerful. Let your hook be always cast; in the pool where you least expect it, there will be a fish

God never did make a more calm, quiet, innocent recreation than angling.
