Sounds like the perfect bailiff - he would certainly keep poachers at bay

An enjoyable read.

I had forgotten this .... coincidentally I was only at Bernithan - or Redmire - but briefly a few weeks ago with some friends. It hadn’t changed..... the water still red on occasion and the woods holding then their late Winter pose .... glad you enjoyed the Hallows Eve tale and best wishes for your Op.

I too was at Redmire on the last week of the season... It sounds daft, or possibly maybe not, but whilst I was there the fishing almost took second place to just being there... walking its banks, soaking up the history... The whole lake and its surroundings have a sort of odd feeling of calm and peace.. a place where time slows. After my visit a few short weeks ago, I feel the need to return... and god willing, maybe one day I shall walk the banks once more...
Just one more cast love, and I'll be on me way home

Leave nothing but footprints, take nothing but pictures and memories
