Putting carbon clutch washers in a 55
Hiya, ive got a 55 with a bit of a sticky clutch and its fine once enertia has kicked in and its running its only on the first initial pull where it sticks, having read about carbon washers in modern reels i was wondering if its posdible to put a set in my 55 and see if that improves the clutch, anyone done this ? Who would do it if anyone? Thanks

There's a very helpful chap by the name of Russ who runs a company called blakdogtackle.com (note the spelling with no 'c'). He's a Carbontex stockist and noted reel guru. He would be my first point of call

I've used him a few years back, for course reels, superb service. All I had to do was give him the approximate size of the washer required and he supplied them, I couldn't fault anything.

Have you though of using a bit of graphite powder, you can buy small puffer bottles for a few pounds, used sparingly it might help.

You can also buy carbon sheet and cut your own. Just rub on a small amount of Cals drag grease
