Re: Recently acquired Cardinals
As the post heading is about recently required Cardinals I thought I would leave this reel for members to view.
Always wanted one when I was a youth but it would cost a couple of weeks wages at the time, now its just cost me an arm and a leg
I also had my white reel back after my good friend Ray Moss did a small job on it with the name plate, also asked his permission to hybridize one of his reel stands with one of mine, I just love Oak so the base has been changed to suit.

Re: Recently acquired Cardinals
Like the early 1970's 44 with the cone bail arm, such a classy made reel in more ways than one, the 66X is also a super reel for those who like a lump of a reel capable of landing many a big fish, infact IF I ever went back to estate lake fishing this is probably the reel of my choice, nice reels Cafe

Thanks. The vendor has promised me that he has a set of used but sound Cardinal 40s and as soon as he finds them will post them to me,not as glamorous, but good solid workhorses.

Lovely '66x, mine don't look so nice, but I'd not be without them!

Re: Recently acquired Cardinals
Very nice examples those, the '40 was the first reel I bought for myself and I used it for nigh on 15 years. The worst thing about it is the noise from the clutch, the plastic side cover makes a horrible loud 'clok-clok-clok' noise' when the clutch is working.
