J.S Sharp 9' 3" Salmon spinner

Post by Beresford »

In short I need a rod of about 2lbs (or 2 and a bit!) test curve or thereabouts for carp. Having looked at the Hardy LRH series and used one I've decided against that rod. I know Sharpes made a whole range of salmon spinning rods but is there a listing available anywhere or could we collectively compose one?

The rod that I think I'm after is the J.S. Sharpe 9' 3" Salmon Spinner but having not handled one I'm not sure if it has the power I want, ie more than a MKIV carp.

I don't want to go down the route of an S.U. MkIV as having used one I found it too much of a blunt instrument. My thoughts were that a rod of about 9'(ish) would be ideal and I like the idea of a locking reel seat for this sort of fishing.

Any thoughts?
