Hello everybody,
Did anyone of you have any information about the Scottie Sharpes "The Specimen Tench" for me? Pictures would be great! Thanks

Was this made in London rather than Aberdeen?

Not heard of it either, any pictures?
There are three things that improve with age: wine, friendship and water sense, and there's no short cut.

Where did you hear or read about this rod or see one? It's not one I've ever come across and it's wasn't in the Sharpes/Weavers ie. Middlesex catalogue listings I had at the time when they were most active. Other than their altered taper MkIV based rods (Carp and Avon) they offered the the Fred Crouch Barbel rod and a Fred Crouch 10' Barbel stalker. There was also a 9' Carp stalker and the 11' Chris Ball Allrounder – a carp rod.

Equally it's one I've never come across in the original Aberdeen range. Perhaps it might be a one off commission.

Sharpe's - Weavers - S & J. That seems to be the sequence of "Scottie" rods.

That does indeed look rather nice.
The coiled line travels from the reel, it brings up at last, the hook goes home, and then begins the test of skill. "BB"
