Sharpes Carp Agate tip ring

Post by Mushy »

Been searching for a Sharpes Carp for some time and after a recent waggling of Bobthefloat's wand the chase was on. And as luck would have it one turned up local to me so with some swift action, apologies to the watchers, the deal was done.

It's a cracking rod, lovely balance, nice fine tip with some backbone down below, it'll come chasing monster barbel with me soon.

But it has a functional but inappropriate modern tip ring on the end, which I would like to replace so if anyone has one please get in touch, the photo below shows what I am after, thanks.

Do you know the size of the ring and tube? :Hat:

I would say the ring itself is 4 to 5 mm internal diameter and the tube needs to be about 4 mm to fit over the cane. Similar to a B James Mk IV.

These are really hard to come by. Pity we can't get a batch made up somehow (but I think that conversation has probably been had before!)

The conversation has certainly been had regarding nets and reels but I'm not sure if we've ventured into cane territory with it. I'd be up for a blank were such a project to happen. I have an original if one were needed for measuring.
