The 500 and 500 deluxe (not as the 550) are the same rod and have the dame ring spacing, the difference being the deluxe has agate butt and tip rings. At least that is my understanding from chapmans.

Good thread.

If you have a look on Chapmans Website at the 500 spec you will see............

" Ring sizes. Middle. Thread-line bridge size 22mm. Full open bridge size 7
Top Full open bridge sizes 5 —- 4 —- 3 cement on tip."
Showing three inters on the tip section.

and for the de-luxe spec
" Ring spacing:
butt 20″ ——— 9- 3/4″
top 13″ ———- 11″ ——— 9″ ——— 6 1/2″

Rings butt size 18 Aqualite size 7 full open bridge (Chromed)
top Full open bridge size 5 —- 4 —– 4 —– 3 —– no 3 Aqualite tip"

Showing four on the tip.

Yes, Lee is correct the de-Luxe has an extra ring and the others shuffled around to suit as well as the better tip and butt ring. Different colour silk as well, I think.

I'll bow to the greater knowledge, however chapmans site describes them as being the same format on here which is where my info came from..
