I have just restored a Sealey Octofloat Deluxe with a Madeira green and black twist from www.sewingmachinesales.co.uk.
£2.30 for a 200M spool. It is as good a match as I could find as the original Jasper thread is very difficult to purchase. You will not be disappointed.

I get mine made up by a guy in Cornwall, he trades on *bay under the name Richmour. I send him a sample and he makes it up for me, the last lot was twin green thread mixed with a single red, gave a perfect match.

Can someone please tell me of this is a refurb or an original rod?
Picked it up today with a few other bits.
Hopefully I have uploaded the photos on imgur?

Looks original to me.
I have the same rod but a little older. Thread rings and reel seat are identical, butt cap is very different.
Handle looks incredibly clean, has it ever been used?

I'm not sure if its original or a refurb and if its been used its only been a few times and its been kept in excellent condition.
I picked this up with a couple of mitchell 300s and some reel bags from a job lot of a house clearance. There were dozens of rods mostly glass and old carbon ones but this was the gem.
I have tried and failed to upload a couple short videos of the rod.
Anyone have any pointers to uploading video? I tried to put a facebook link on but it didn't work!
