Well done Steve - a good find sir! I've been tripping over (bad) 12 footers but couldn't lay my hands on an 11ft for love nor money!

Excellent news Mark, Sir.

Glad you got one Mark.

With a 12 footer and a test in my possesion i think perhaps I need to go for a lighter cane rod next.

What sort of fish will the floatcaster deluxe handle. The lake I fish regularly has many carp up to 10lb but the smaller ones fight the hardest. It also holds bream and tench close in. If I fish for the bream and tench and manage to hook one of the bigger carp (I've been told they go to 16lb though 7-10 is the average) would I land those safely if played cautiously?

God never did make a more calm, quiet, innocent recreation than angling.

I think, Matt, that you could spend forever worrying about things like this. I fish a lake for tench with mine and there are carp to over 20lb in there. Wouldn't want to put my floatcaster through that. But that's why I use a 4lb hook link. You cannot limit yourself to using the rod only in waters that contain just small fish. There aren't enough of them that are carp free for that!
