Hi Mike,
I would say they probably have a similar test curve but with the Avocet being a foot longer, it has more power lower down.
Here's a pic of my whole cane butt Avo in the capable hands of a certain Mr Brookes. As you can see the rod is under no stress at all with a fish of around 3lb on. I think the Avon and Avocet are both capable of handling low doubles in weed free waters.
