URGENT HELP NEEDED
Hi guys I've just brought what I think is a Hardy Lrh0
8ft 6in spinning rod
I've been after one for some time.
It was purchased from that auction site
The description was very misleading it needs a full refurb.
And straightening.
It was described as "as it left the factory" which is laughable.
The problem is that I don't know anybody who has one to compare and verify it is actually a Lrh 0
The guy has offered some money back but I need to make sure it is a 0 before going any further
Any help on this would be very much appreciated
I can put up more pics if needed the tip section is shocking tbh.

Re: URGENT HELP NEEDED
I cannot help with the identification but the serial number relates to Hardy rods made in 1952.
My LRH No. 2 is dated 1955 if that helps anyone.

I found this from the 1951 Hardy anglers guide which should help.
There is indeed a No.0 at eight and a half feet long

Looks like a build up of badly applied coloured varnish to me....it’s awful, but I’m sure a good restorer could get it back to something like usable....good luck

Re: URGENT HELP NEEDED
I think that has just been very badly varnished.
It should be easy enough to strip it an re do it. Good luck.
Bring the re born version to Ashmead so we can see.

Re: URGENT HELP NEEDED
The biggest concern for me Bob, is you say it needs straightening!
You will have to strip it down to straighten it, only then you will know if the tip is knackered or not!
If the tip has gone soft, when you bend it it will go back to the set.
The Seller is not allowed to only offer a part refund, if you paid by paypal, ask for a full refund, if they refuse, open a dispute with ebay and you will get a full refund, they also have to refund you the postage back!
