Hardy Sea Rod

Post by Leigh »

I have just acquired a Hardy rod, with a serial number 59067.

Does this date to the 1930s? The rod is two piece and was probably a sea fishing rod - I have intentions on using it for large pike.

Any advice would be much appreciated

Not surprisingly the rings have been replaced, the patent mentioned on the handle relates to a wire type, certainly looks a sturdy rod though.
There are three things that improve with age: wine, friendship and water sense, and there's no short cut.
