I use a ABU 444 on mine for Carping and Pikeing...big fish stopper...definitely yes.The only fish I was not able to stop with was a baltic Salmon
on river Morrum/Sweden..The greatest Carp I got on it was a 25 pounder which it handle with ease...Have a go.Use it

Either a Multiplier or Pin would be my choice, Sir. On most fixed spool reels you will rely on the clutch and you will have line twist.
