I am sure that there are knowledgable folk on here who can advise - but I understand the Hardy Perfection Roach was made in two lengths being 10'-6" and 11'-0".
On the face of it it does seem extraordinary to manufacture two versions of a rod with such small differences in length. So there must be a logical reason and I would be delighted to discover what was so important.

Hi PH, I was always under the assumption that the two lengths were 10' and 11' which would make the difference worthwhile..I'm often wrong though!!

There seems to be 2 eras of Perfection Roach according to G Turners book.
Perfection Roach - 2 piece split bamboo - 10ft - 10.5ft - 11ft - 1914-1966

I have not seen one the flesh so as to speak but would dearly love to own one - when I have some money or win the lottery!

Hi,
I have an early model 10'-0" in original but scruffy condition. It's number dates it to 1922 so they were certainly making this size then. Unusual agate snake rings throughout and a very low on the handle fixed reel seat.

I saw one recently and could not believe how fine the tip was,a lovely rod indeed.

Mine is an 11ft 2 piece from the mid 60's, this is regarded as thge MkII version with a more stouter tip, but is still very fine.

Was there a 10ft - 6in version with a whole cane butt section. I seem to remember reading this somewhere.

Since my first post I have been fortunate enough to acquire a MkII version of this rod and providing I can secure the kitchen scales will hopefully post again tomorrow with a result.
