im just about to restore a hardy fly rod and i would like to find its date and what model it is.
its about 10-6. 2 piece and i think its quite a very old model,it has a W reel fitting pat no 16.8 .73, the rings number is 2307, it has no date letter but a rod no of 51623,i have looked on a hardy archive but found no clues to its history,any help would be appriecated,thanks chubman.

If the numbers are 'correct' it seems to date to about 1900. What it is made from will help & its exact length.

the rod is 10ft -2inches,two piece split cane with a cork wrapped butt,with some odd rod rings on it, not unlike snake eyes but with a full ring on them, tied onto the sides of the cane ,not underneath
