Gloria's Partner
Nov.5 birthday prezzie from son but what reel to complement this tidy 13’ match rod?
He has previously given me a nice 330 Otomatic, but I think it is a little large for this particular rod, what do other members think?
I am considering a few alternatives, the Ambidex 1 or 2, or the dinky Mitchell 308.
I am warming to the Ambidex models as I think they are nearer this rods era,
probably 1955 to 1965.
Regards Tom.

How about an Intrepid Elite ? Perfect for the period, as this 'Fishing Gazette' December 1961 advert shows.
"Beside the water I discovered (or maybe rediscovered) the quiet. The sort of quiet that allows one to be woven into the tapestry of nature instead of merely standing next to it." Estaban.

Hi,
Not a bad choice and a tad lighter and smaller than the Otomatic. I’ve got a couple of presentable ones lurking somewhere, they could do with a few days out.
Regards Tom.
