Good afternoon all
Does anyone have any information on the above rod? I believe that it's a Salmon rod and the one I'm watching on the auction site is a 12' 3 piece, the reel seat and rings would suggest that it was a spinning rod. Just wondering if it could be used for coarse fishing for Barbel, Carp or Pike?

If the cane is OK it could be converted - but at what cost?
The female ferule on the middle joint is covered, blue tape, as well as the male ferrule on the top joint - a problem?
The screw winch fitting is specifically "salmon" rod and would need to be changed - new corks etc.
An alternative is use the top two joints and make a short butt section - like a Chapman 500/550 - at about 10 foot.
It is designed for salmon which can be hefty lumps so that bit is covered.

Thanks Olly, my assumption was that as the rings are not "snake" it would be OK to use as is, though after a bit if research it might be a Spey casting rod, which may make the action too floppy. With regards to the tape, the description mentioned that it was for "identification" purposes only, I'll ask if they can provide pictures without.
