Dennis Pye Pike two piece NL?
Just bought something off a well known auction site I probably shouldn’t have.
Is there such a thing as a Pye two piece rod?

It should be a 3 piece. Handle, with a female ferrule and then two pieces of cane. It may have been listed wrongly. I've bought rods previously which were listed as 2 piece but the seller hadn't realised that the butt and handle could be separated.
Just had a look at what I think is your listing. Looks OK

Have a look at the thread above it seems to show that it came in different formats, including 2 piece

Just found this.
It appears that they did do a two piece?
I’m thinking that NL = New Look, which I understand were two piece rods?

Re: Dennis Pye Pike two piece NL?
The NL was indeed New Look. These rods were finished with matt varnish and had a cork end to the butt instead of a metal and rubber button base.No intermediate whippings at all.Designed to appeal to "modern"anglers of the time who were switching to the new glass rods. Most of the range of rods had this version as an option at the time.I had a Peter Stone Ledgerstrike NL which was a superb rod in use as well as looks.

Yes they did make a 2-piece version.
Far less common but a more desirable rod.
Well done.

Re: Dennis Pye Pike two piece NL?
I've always understood, as Snape writes, that the two piece was a much rarer rod but the better option. I don't know if they adjusted the taper.
