The carp

Post by Black Prince »

Sat here one evening and looking through my normal sites came across a advert on eBay a two piece chapmans rod 10ft 2 the carp rod there was two photos that were out of focus a lady selling with a short description nothing to help there I won it the next 4days I was seriously questioning my sanity probably thrown money down the road it turned up didn’t look to bad to my untrained eye  sent it off to forum member wallys cast it came back yesterday wow what a transformation it’s one beautiful carp rod ImageImageImageImageImageImage it now has agate lined tip and butt rings end eye threaded for a swing tip (my photos will not do it justice) I was like a kid at Christmas waiting for it to arrive the door opened before the delivery man had knocked it was crowned with a acorn ferrule protector a kind gift thank you wal it’s a work of art on its own I can’t wait to catch my first carp on it the Whippings are a dark green as are the intermediates the rod has been restored to better than new I will use a centerpin reel on it and a swing tip to catch my first carp on it thanks for everything dr cane :Ok: a very happy mike :fish: :fishing1:

Wal's rebuilds are superb, as are his new builds... I only just got my Dawsons Medina back yesterday and as usual, Wal has done a stunning job, with agate tip and butt rings and low bells rings and a handle extension... He also made me a bankstick out of an old pole section as the pole I sent was beyond economical repair...
That Chapmans looks superb but then thats what you get with Wal... a top class job and stunning service...!
Just one more cast love, and I'll be on me way home

Looks like a lovely rod - enjoy it and let us know when you put a bend in it!
