Having at last figured out how to add pictures, another TFF member thought I mebbe had something of interest to add !

As there is no previous posting for a Mk 7 fingers x'd it all comes up.
11ft bottom rod. much more power than a Wizard.
Landed a 20lb clearwater common with ease
Chapmans supplied a new tip recently
Refurbed by myself. Should have three wraps really under the logo but I like it better with just the two

Crikey ! That is a stunningly beautiful rod there QC. I think the pennies I am saving for a teardrop or Walker net might now have to be diverted ! Like that a lot. Superb restoration ! Can you match that with the Grantham reel ?

Just out of interest, did Chapmans happen to mention how many MK 7s were made. I have owned a couple of MK8s and was told by John Chapman only 50 of them were made yet a lot seem to have survived.

Not a match. The Grantham has a heavy inertia spool more suited to MkIV Carp or heavier.

Q7 has a trotter vibe so Hardy Conquest or yet to try, perhaps an Aerial T10 to which I have given a cork arbour
to improve line recovery but as a bonus also gets rid of the line crimp effect of the pillars.

I did ask John at the time if he knew.
He said he didn't know off the top of his head but would look it up.
He never did come back about it.

I think your right with the Mk8 I have one of those too.

Probably so few made they never kept a record of them. Has anyone else on the forum got one, I wonder.

I have one, John said less than 25 made, built exactly the same spacings as an Amwel but with the 5 sided blank, excelent rod
