I'm looking for one of these and have a post on the wanted section.

Does anyone have any details/information on this rod?

Forgive me, but it might help in your search...I think it's called the Dal-Monte.

Lord knows what it means!

Perhaps Peter Dawson is an opera fan?

Toti Dal Monte ( Toti from the mountains)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toti_Dal_Monte

Not her real name and not to my taste at all, she debuted at La Scalla at the tender age of just 17.

I don't know if she is the inspiration for Peter Dawson's rod...she retired in 1945 and caused international outrage when she married in Sydney and the Fascist salute was given at the wedding..this was back in 1929 so it seems unlikely to have inspied Peter.

Otherwise the words Dal Monte ( of or from the mountains ) is an Italian sports firm, not apparently connected to fishing, seemingly formed in 1978.

Perhaps it was just a connection to mountain streams and spinning for game fish that made Peter use the name?

It certainly has the appearance of a spinning rod, my use was general fishing, but I didn't have a it for anything but that purpose..
