Len the Gentleman.....

Post by The Sweetcorn Kid »

What a nice chap he is. I recently met him for the first time at the Perchfishers book launch. I took along my copy of Redmire Pool on the off chance he could sign it for me and I managed to bump into him in passing. He told me that if he didn't sit down to dinner his Mrs wouldn't be happy, but to follow him to the table where he'd gladly sign my book for me.

It really was a pleasure to meet him. Anyone else got any stories about this legendary angler??

Not a story as such but I can confirm what you say about him being a really nice chap SK.

We met at Redmire a couple of years ago and had I known there was a likelyhood that we'd bump into him I would have taken my book along. As it was I totally enjoyed him telling tales from back in the day and showing us through some very special rods and nets. Really friendly man.

He even indulged my request for a photo

I fished a night at redmire with him, he's a proper gent. Didn't even swear (to badly anyway!) when he lost a common right at the net! And he did us all fried egg sandwiches in the morning..
